International schools feel a connection to Canada
“What a wonderful idea. My particular interest is to engage student leadership in the coordination of school community runs. Our senior class takes on our Terry Fox Run as a service project the entire class gets behind. There is lots of room for developing this model other schools can use. These are kids who will be going on to big things in their lives and their sphere of influence will be great. I always use the approach that if we “get it right” with these kids, the future will be bright.”
“I think this is a super idea and would love for LAS to be involved in the pilot. Our juniors and seniors (Grade 11 & 12) organize the Terry Fox Run at our school so it would be great to coordinate with similar schools. I particularly like the fact that by doing this we can share ideas and resources, feel a closer connection to Canada, and students can learn about cultural and geographic differences and hopefully engage in other interactions during the year with their twinned school. Count me in!”
