Terry Fox Works Day – Friday, September 11, 2009Since its very beginnings, The Terry Fox Foundation has always received strong support from employees, businesses and groups holding their own fundraising events and/or attending Terry Fox Runs as family, dedication or work groups. In recognition of their valuable contributions to cancer research, and knowing that the camaraderie of being part of a group is a big part of their success, the Terry Fox Works concept was born in 2007. Groups have the option of coming together on a national day, the Friday before the Terry Fox Run, as well as participating in the Run itself on Sunday. The Great Canadian Head Shave is the premiere event of Terry Fox Works Day. Groups and individuals lose their locks in workplaces, salons and community sites across Canada. For those wanting to hold a different type of event, the Foundation provides an extensive list of ideas that work in all types and sizes of workplaces.
