What You Should Know

What you should know about the Confederation Bridge Terry Fox Run:

  • The Confederation Bridge will be closed to all vehicular traffic on Sunday, September 19, 2010 between the hours of 6:00 AM and 1:00 PM to allow for the Terry Fox Run.
  • The Terry Fox Run is open to runners and walkers.
  • Participants will be able to start from either New Brunswick or PEI, and will be given the option of crossing the entire length of the bridge or turning around at any kilometer marker leading up to the half-way point of the bridge.
  • The length of the Confederation Bridge is 12.9 kilometers.
  • Pre-registration is mandatory and free. There will be no registrations at the Confederation Bridge on the day of the Run.
  • Online registration is the only method of registration for this event. The online registration closing date is Friday, September 17, 2010 at 23:59.
  • Upon registration, you will receive an email confirmation containing information on:
    • Designated parking lot
    • Designated time to arrive at the parking lot
    • YOUR Run start time
  • A shuttle bus will be available from 5:30 - 6:45 AM to transport participants FROM the designated parking lot TO the other end of the Confederation Bridge. You can then walk/run back to your vehicle. Details will be included in the confirmation email from the Confederation Bridge.
  • Please contact Angie Crowe Jeffrey at the Confederation Bridge office if you require a special needs bus to transport a wheelchair across the bridge. Email TF30-CB@confederationbridge.com or Phone (902) 367 3675.
  • No pledge money will be accepted at the Confederation Bridge. Click here to view a number of payment/deposit options available to you.
  • Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • For safety reasons, no bicycles, roller blades, skateboards or pets (except for seeing-eye dogs) will be permitted on the Bridge. Wheelchairs and strollers are permitted.
  • Water stations and toilet facilities will be situated along the entire length of the Bridge deck.
  • Full emergency/medical and police services will be provided on site.
  • Special Terry Fox 30th Anniversary regalia will be on sale on both the NB and PEI sides of the Bridge.
