National School Run Day OrganizersThursday, September 27, 2012"Terry Fox has been an inspiration in my life for over 20 years as a teacher and principal. His life and the Marathon of Hope provide many lessons for young and old alike.
One lesson from Terry that I have always tried to impress upon students is that the commitment to finish is meaningless if you don't have the courage to start." John Cumming, Teacher We recognize that Canadian educators play a vital role in ensuring that Terry’s mission is passed down through the generations, not just for the sake of history but for the opportunity it presents to empower and inspire our young people. Terry once said, “People in cancer clinics all over the world need people who believe in miracles.” There is no doubt in our minds that our educators are miracle-makers in our School Program. We know how much work is involved in organizing a Terry Fox event and we cannot really ever adequately express our appreciation for what you do.
